did anyone notice this indiana jones inconsistency?

ok check this out indiana jones fans. unfortunately i pointed out
a major plot hole in the idiana jones' franchise. remember the
scene in "indiana jones  the last crusade",when jones and the
austrian blonde were in the catacombs looking for the 2nd marker?
well,i regret to inform people that something ocurred in that scene
that
should have ended the franchise forever. this is regarding the part
where
harrison ford lights a torch to see in the dark. well pieces of the
cloth
used in wrapping the torch were falling into the petroleum pool
he and she were standing in,when searching for sir richard's tomb.
fire from the torch was continuously dripping into the oil,yet never
ignited.
however minutes later,a protector of the holy grail lights "1'' match
and toses it into the oil,and causes a massive confligration. what
gives?
indy most likely would've killed himself along with the blonde before
the
grail protectors even showed up. oooops, i guess lucas and spielberg
were hoping
nobody noticed. well guess what-i noticed. and yesssss i know, i'm a
nerd!
oh well, whatcha gonna do?
