someone please have a play of this and see if it makes sense! FYI, I
find the first verse cringe but struggling to think of alternatives
and I a considering changing the ryhme scheme - a bit too prescribed I
think :/
The Silence and Actions Regretted
capo 3
VERSE
G/Cm/Em/C
Streaks running down my face
G/Cm/Em/C
Showing my foundation out of place
G/Cm/Em/C
Tears could be mistaken for the rain
G/Cm/Em/C
But this feeling is naught but pain
BRIDGE
Am/F/C/D
You are my breaking point
Am/F/C/G
You are my hallelujah in the dark
C/Cadd9/C
CHORUS
Am/F/C
This energy between us two
Am/F/C
It's cold but it still burns
Am/F/C
My lover, my sinner, my world alight
Am/F/C/Cadd9/C
Leave me alone to mend my wounds
VERSE
G/Cm/Em/C
We were never two for romance
G/Cm/Em/C
No dinners by candle, no moonlight dance
G/Cm/Em/C
It doesn't mean we weren't in love
G/Cm/Em/C
We just cooed like the Mourning Dove
C/Cadd9/C
VERSE
G/Cm/Em/C
We'd drink until silly and laugh until we cried
G/Cm/Em/C
When accusations started flying, we knew this had died
G/Cm/Em/C
You and her and me and him, what does it matter anyway?
G/Cm/Em/C
It's in the violence and the silence we will pay

Am/F/C/D
You are my breaking point
Am/F/C/G
You are my hallelujah in the dark
C/Cadd9/C

Am/F/C
This energy between us two

My lover, my sinner, my world alight

Oh we must bend to the break
G/Cm/Em/C
Just remember the joy we make

Our lives didn't exist before we met

haha I take no offense to the poem comment - to me, almost all songs
are poetry set to music - you just have to find the right tune.
